Malfoy. The Malfoy family is an upper class one, meaning that they are "old money." They have been been born into and raised with wealth for generations. They are one of the old noble, prestigious families on both sides. Draco Malfoy was raised with pureblood elite ideals like the rest of his family, who supported the first Dark Lord in his multiple risings zealously. He married Asteria Greengrass after the two graduated from Hogwarts and became a supporter of the new Dark Lord and a member of the inner circle of the new knights of walpurgis. He is now the head of the department of magical accidents and catastrophes. Asteria Helene Malfoy (formerly Greengrass) is the youngest daughter of the Greengrass family. She was raised, like Draco, with pureblood elite ideals. She married Draco Malfoy after she finished Hogwarts, two years after him, and the two started a family not long after. She supports her husband and the pureblood cause and loves to play her part in pureblood society and host and attend parties. Montague. Marcus Herbert Montague comes from a notable Pure-blood family dating back generations, one absorbed in the so-called values and virtues of Pure-blood society, firmly entrenched in the Bourgeoisie class. Melinda Marie Bobbin, a bright witch, from the same class standing, family name somewhat less renowned but compensated for through greater wealth, came from a situation not dissimilar. The pairing of the two would seem something of a nice match in the circles of Wizarding society, Marcus quite capable of taking on a traditional role, as was Melinda. Following a struggle to have a child, she would often be the one to dote on him, giving him the emotional warmth most need, while Marcus was off pursuing his Quidditch career, sending them all manner of material things, building up the family's wealth and such. Melinda's difficulties with childbearing, however, coupled with the family's desire to expand and provide another in the Montague line, would prove her undoing. Four years and two early miscarriages later, she gave birth to a daughter who would die not too long after, giving to her family her last full measure of devotion, giving up her own life in the quest to fulfill what was expected of her. Nott. The marriage of Theodore Nott to Padma Patil was seen as a "smart match" among the Pure-blood Wizarding Community, linking prominent Pure-blood families, securing for the Notts the potential promise of future generations of Pure-blooded sons, and cementing the Patils in the highest ranks of the upper class. But it was seen as more than that. It was perceived as a product of great romance, of showers of rose petals and candles and long walks on the beach near the shore of Nott's summer home in Falmouth, one that featured strolls through the Nott rose gardens off the estate near classy old town Hastings, or candlelit dinners with champagne under a priceless, generations-old chandelier. And the wizarding world was left to its illusions. It was in fact a thing with ulterior motives, though neither would admit it, a perfect placing of a member of the Order of the Phoenix in the spying vicinity of a believed top-ranking member of the new Knights of Walpurgis, and the perfect way for the Knight bent on gaining greater power within the ranks of the new Dark Lord to gain access to an Order member through her sister. Pity that despite his cleverness, he and the rest of the Knights of Walpurgis had made the wrong assumptions about the wrong sister. Their union, still, would grow to more than that, though it would come years following the picturesque, seemingly dream-wedding and much sombering news later. Runcorn. Tristan and Daphne met during their time at Hogwarts, during their first few years they had a very grudging friendship. As the years passed however it became more and more. Marrying almost directly after graduation the couple didn’t seem to draw much attention to themselves. But quickly, surely and almost unnoticed Tristan, with the careful and cunning help from his wife, he climbed up the so called ‘corporate ladder’ positioning himself careful and perfectly for the events that would happen next that would land him in the most powerful position in the wizarding world, the Minister of Magic, in the fall of 2017 -- a position he holds with high esteem. Weasley.
The Pairings. NOTE: Blood Status is determined by grandparents. If no magical grandparents are present, then the child is said to be Muggle-born, of non-magical origins, EVEN if both of the child's parents were magical (Muggle-borns). If one, two, or three magical grandparents were present, then the child is said to be a Half-blood, regardless of the parents' magical status. IF and ONLY IF four magical, wizarding grandparents are present is the child considered to be a Pure-blood. For our complete playable character list, click here. We're very flexible on the matter of parental pairings, and if you are interested in this game, but see the parents you would like already paired off, we'll be more than happy to switch some things around if the children of those parents haven't already been taken up. Want to change your character's name, siblings, etc, please just contact the mods, either by replying to this entry, or PMing the mod account (salvio_mods). We'll see what we can work out. After all, the aim of this game is to make players happy, and we're more than willing to bend on some things like this. For many of the families, we have put the fathers down, and [OPEN] for a player's choice of mother. Available mothers appear below the family list, and we're pretty flexible, unless someone is already taken. We have assigned some characters their blood status already, to keep balance in the game, and this is something that we plan to stick to.

More on Classes. Class. Upper Class. "Old money." People who have been born into and raised with wealth; mostly consits of old noble or prestigious families. Among Pure-bloods, they are expected to maintain the family legacy, in both wealth and by maintaining a prestigious bloodline, marrying only within their class or choosing among the daughters of the Bourgeoisie. Bourgeoisie. Either those of names of well-repute, old noble or prestigious families, who may not be as financially well off as the "old money," but are still doing quite well for themselves, more than a cut above the rest, or those who are financially well off, but lack the social status of the true Upper Class. Among Pure-bloods, the more traditional families expect daughters to marry well, either in their class or a class above, and sons are expected to maintain family tradition and work to bring the family wealth or status up. Middle Class. From across the vast spectrum of the middle class. This ranges from high-salaried professionals (i.e., doctors, lawyers, corporate executives), to professionals with salaries and a good degree of educational attainment (i.e.. professors, managerial office workers, architects), to lower-paid professionals, but not manual laborers (i.e., police officers, non-management office workers, small business owners). Among Pure-bloods, they would run the shops of Diagon Alley and such places, and hold the less lucrative Ministerial positions. They are less confined to expected marriages than those in higher classes, though for the more hard-line families, maintaining the prestige of name by marrying other Pure-bloods would be seen as favourable. Working Class. Blue-collar workers and manual labourers. Also known as the "upper-low class." Among Pure-bloods, they are expected to cater to the whims of those above them, and to try to maintain the prestige of their name and/or re-establish it. Poor. The homeless and permanently unemployed, as well as the "working poor."
